Pays d'Oc IGP Ambassador of the Year 2014/2015

Pays d'Oc logo - NEW

2014 sees Pays d’Oc IGP building on the concept of last year’s ‘Pays d’Oc IGP Communicator of the Year’ competition. Inter Oc, the wine trade association for Pays d’Oc IGP wines, has decided to expand and diversify the competition into the ‘Pays d’Oc IGP Ambassador of the Year’.

As part of an on-going campaign to raise awareness within the UK trade of its wines and region, Inter Oc announced this new competition to reward the individual who will contribute to the promotion of the Pays d’Oc territory in the Languedoc-Roussillon and its IGP quality varietal wines to the public.

The judges will be looking for an individual who embodies the diversity and originality of Pays d’Oc IGP as well as someone who can explain and convey the spirit and key messages of Pays d’Oc IGP to the UK market: to consumer, press and trade.

The competition is open to anyone working within the UK wine trade, from On-Trade, Off-Trade to Distributors and Suppliers. Entries will open on 15th April 2014 and close on 18th June 2014. The award will be formally announced in September 2014.

The winner of the Pays d’Oc Ambassador of the Year 2014/2015 will be offered the opportunity to represent the UK as a member of the Grand Jury of the Pays d’Oc IGP Collection 2015, selecting some of the finest wines from the denomination. Following their ‘election’ the responsibilities will include interacting as the spokesperson of Pays d’Oc IGP on social networks, as well as enlightening the UK wine industry with information such as tasting notes and comments on the denomination, wines and producers.
